Q: Will you show me what the poker chip looks like before you begin production?
A: Absolutely. In fact, we require your approval of the proof
before we begin printing. We will email you a .jpg proof of your design and
if you want to change the design, tell us how you want it changed and we'll
make the changes and email you another proof. We'll continue emailing you proofs
until you're satisfied that you're getting what you want. Once satisfied, just
reply to the email with your approval and production will begin promptly.
Q: How are the poker chips personalized?
A: Unlike most other custom poker chips which feature only
a one-color foil stamp, these personalized poker chips feature FULL-COLOR
photo-quality graphics printed using professional quality laser printers, and
a special, commercial-grade waterproof polyester label (not paper) that is
specifically designed to withstand liquids spilled on them. These labels are
bright white and will stay bright white under normal conditions, they adhere to both
sides of the chip, and are big enough for photos and text.
The center of these chips can look like just about anything you wish - photos,
drawings, denominations, artistic text, combinations of photos and text, whatever
you desire! Either email us your design or use one of our designs and add your
text.
Q: How many poker chips should I buy?
A1: For Wedding and party favors if you are setting them out
loose, you will want at least 2 times as many personalized poker chips as guests.
You can also put one or more into organza bags to make sure everyone gets a
poker chip wedding favor.
A2: For home games, the number of chips you need depends on
the number of players you expect. Usually 100 chips per player is a good starting
point. Remember, we keep your design in our files for easy reordering.
Q: How many different colors should I get?
A1: For Wedding and party favors it is completely up to you.
Some people order just one color, other people order one color for the bridal
party and another color for all other guests, and some people order an assortment
of most or all of the colors - it is completely up to you.
A2:For home games, three or four different colors is common, but you should
make sure that each chip value, however many you have, is represented by its
own separate color. The most popular color representation of value, from least
value to most value: grey or white - red - green - blue - black. Some people like to
add purple or pink for a chip value that is far and above the next highest chip
value in the game so as to make it more of a "prestige" chip. This is your game,
though, so do whatever works for you.
Q: What is a typical color assortment?
A: In a typical poker game, you should usually allocate more
chips for the lower value chips than the higher chip values. Grey/white is the most
common color to represent the lowest chip value and black is the most common
color to represent the highest chip value in sets with 4 or 5 colors.
In a typical set of 300 chips, a common mix would be 150 grey/white - 100 red or blue
or green - 50 blue or green or black (depending on which color you chose for
the middle denomination).
In a typical set of 500 chips, a common mix would be 200 grey/white - 150 red - 100
blue or green - 50 black.
In a typical set of 1000 chips, a common mix would be 300 grey/white - 300 red - 250
blue - 100 green - 50 black.
For a structured limit Texas Hold 'Em game, like $3-6, you should probably go
with three colors. In a 500 chip set, get about 50 grey/white chips to satisfy the
$1 small blind requirement, then about 300 red or green chips to represent the
pre-flop/post-flop bet of $3, and then about 150 blue or black chips to represent
the $6 turn and river bets. Of course, you don't have to use those color suggestions
or quantities. They are only typical of today's poker games.
You can allocate chip counts and colors however it works for your game. Choose
any combination of chip colors to make up your set of personalized poker chips.
Q: Should I put denominations on my poker chips?
A: We encourage you not to put denominations on your personalized
chips. You may want to use these chips in a game with different stakes and the
chips might then confuse the players. We suggest just letting the colors speak
for chip value to give them more versatility.
Q: I really want denominations, how many can I use?
A: You can have up to three free denominations per 300 chip
set, four free denominations per 500 chip set, five free denominations per 1000
chip set. After that, we add $10 to your total price for each extra denomination
requested. There is a minimum of 50 chips per denomination.
Q: Does it cost more if I send you my own graphic as opposed to using
one of your stock designs?
A: No, the price is the same. There is no set-up fee for either
option. Please make sure your photo or graphic is at least 300 dpi, and please
do not format it as a circle. Most of the time, it is best to just send us your
graphic and let us do the formatting and text work for you.
Q: Are the poker chips customized on both sides?
A: Yes, and the two sides can be different for no extra charge.
Q: Does it cost more to use multiple images?
A: The prices shown include up to two designs per set in addition
to the denominations. This means you can print a different front and back of
the chips in your set.
For sets that include more than two designs (not counting denominations), please
add each design to your shopping cart separately.
Q: What image formats are acceptable?
A: We prefer photoshop files, but also accept .jpg, .tiff,
.bmp and .gif. Photos and images should be high resolution of at least 300 dpi
and at least 300 pixels across and taken in good light with no glare.
Q: What image can I use?
A: Select from our available designs, or use your own photo
or image. Remember, the better quality the image is, the better the print quality
will be. Please, no pornographic or profane images or text.
Q: Do you charge set up fees?
A: No.
Q: Do you charge design fees?
A: Professional design is free for 2 rounds of changes, additional
changes to your design will accrue a $40 per design fee.
Q: Can I customize the edges of the poker chip?
A: No. We only print in the center portion of the chip. The
edge stripe designs shown are part of the chip. Also note that the edges are
permanent since the stripes are not painted on like other company's chips.
Q: How sturdy are the poker chips?
A: Very sturdy and unbreakable. However, like most consumer
products, someone with the intent of destroying the personalized poker chips
will be able to do so, but if the chips are used and enjoyed for their intended
purpose, they will give you countless hours of entertainment. If liquids do
spill on the personalized poker chips, just dry them off and you are ready to
go.
Q: What size are the personalized poker chips?
A: Each poker chip is a heavyweight 11.5 gram, casino size
40mm across (more than one and a half inches), and about 4mm thick. You can
really feel a professional-quality chip in your hand, and then you can hear
the quality as it splashes the pot.
Q: What size are the personalized centers of the poker chips?
A: The personalized center of the "standard" poker chips is about 1.2" across,
the centers of the dice and suited chips is a little less than 1" across.
Q: What is the chip made of?
A: These poker chips are produced from a composite resin with
a metal insert that gives them the weight and feel of a heavy casino quality
chip. These are more durable than clay, which is more brittle and more fragile.
There's really no such thing as "real" clay poker chips anymore. Certainly
not in use in the casinos - they break too easily and cost too much to use everyday.
The "clay" poker chips you see elsewhere only have about 10% clay and are still
more brittle and break easier than the poker chips that we offer. Our composite
material actually looks, feels, and sounds better than old-style clay chips.
Q: Will you keep my design on file for when I want to order more of the same poker chip?
A: Yes. We'll keep your design on file for at least two years.
Q: Can I get poker chips personalized a different way that I don't see on your website?
A: Yes. If you want to do something with your chip that is
not an available option on our website, contact us and we'll see what we can
do. Your options are nearly limitless, it just difficult to offer all of the
options on a website.
Q: Do you sell poker tables and other supplies?
A: No. We specialize in personalized poker chips for wedding favors and
have added a few other high quality poker theme party favors to our product line.
Most of the companies that do sell poker tables, etc. along with personalized
poker chips are not the actual manufacturers of any items. We are the manufacturer
of the personalized poker chips.
